Something’s just not right with this outfit. The Monique L’lullier dress is just fine really, but I think I have a problem with the color. It’s just doesn’t say America. England maybe. Dress makes America look like an old lady. What’s worse than her choice of color? Her choice of hair style. That do makes it look as if she’s being seen in an aging mirror that ages her about 20 years. 

A Golden Globe for Javier Bardem

Javier Bardem won a Golden Globe as Best Supporting Actor for his role as Anton the psychopath in the film  No Country for Old Men. Javier released a statement:

“It is a great honor to have been recognized with this award in a time when there are so many outstanding performances in this category.” 


Due to the writer’s strike, the winners were announced via a live press conference. I had to resort to mentally picturing the fashions for the night. So, I will tell you what everyone wore. Best Actress in a Comedy or musical nominee America Ferrera wore a green toga-like Elie Tahari gown with Shemera eyelashes and a sweeping hairdo. Shakira, best song nominee? A fitting gown that showed off her belly dance-flattened abs.

Ana Ortiz Reveals “Ugly Betty” Casting Secret

Ever wonder how Ana Ortiz maximed her chances of getting the role of America Ferrera’s sister Hilda Suarez on “Ugly Betty”?  Wonder no more. The actress simply dressed the part.

 ”I was super plain. I just put on some glasses and kept my hair kind of flat and layered on the clothing. I knew that the role was really wrong for me. My objective was mainly to go in there and give a really good audition because I was so excited about the project. I just wanted them to remember me, so that I could be involved in the future.”

Ana also teased the press about whether her character Hilda will get together with Daniel:

“I don’t know. They’ve never given us much of an inkling of that. We had the one episode where I sort of just (kissed him) to torture Betty. That makes me giggle. It definitely would be fun and interesting.They’ve never said anything to me about it, but they have talked about Hilda’s dating, so something is in the works.”
